Cocktails in Charlotte

Wynner’s Club

Thank you to North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program for sponsoring this post!

When it comes to having fun and enjoying a great night out, Charlotte has plenty of options to choose from. Whether you want to walk around and enjoy all the cool art in Camp North End or go on a cocktail tour of South End (because there’s more to Charlotte than Downtown Charlotte), you can find something for everyone. As for me? I love exploring my favorite neighborhood in a fun and safe way! Keep reading to see where to have date night or a girl’s night out in South End:

Reminder to stay safe by drinking responsibly and utilizing rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft. Another great thing about the South End neighborhood is that you’re able to use the Lynx as well. So whether you’re using Lyft, calling a friend or riding the Lynx – there’s no excuse for drunk driving.

1. Elsewhere Cocktail Bar

Elsewhere is tucked away in the Design Center next to Pepperbox Doughnuts. You need a membership to gain access (but don’t worry it’s only $10), and the membership is great for one year. My favorite cocktails here are: The Matador, Pimms Cup and the South End Paloma.

2. Stir

Stir Charlotte is most commonly known for their ice and barrel aged cocktails. With over 350 types of liquor, there is a drink for every palate. Treat yourself to a “Viva La Astral” or “Flower Power” with your dinner.

3. Trolley Barn

South End’s newest addition. Don’t let the brewery fool you, Trolley Barn has a detailed cocktail list that is delicious! Try the “Spiked Raspberry Lemonade” and the “Jamaican Rum Punch.” One of my favorite things about Trolley Barn is the fact that there are three food stalls inside, so you won’t go hungry.

4. Hawkers

Hawkers boasts the most aesthetic vibes, and it won’t be a trip to Hawkers without the OG painkiller and a side of roti. Take in the awesome decor and indulge with their creative tiki drinks.

Did you know that most impaired driving happens between 7PM – 2AM? Driving impaired is never worth it and motorists who are caught can face jail time, pay an average of $10,000 in fines and other fees associated with DWIs. If you’re going to booze it, make sure to lose it (your keys).

5. Lincoln St. Kitchen and Cocktails

Amanda Britton is one of the best mixologists in the Queen City. She won’t let you down with her creativity in every drink. Enjoy the “Curious Poses” or the “Best Kept Secret” and pair it with their dinner plates like the Pan Roasted Chicken.

6. Dilworth Tasting Room

Dilworth Tasting Room may be a wine bar, but the cocktails are a hidden gem! Order the Espresso Martini, “The Cleanse” (if you love Elijah Craig) and “The Secret Garden.”

7. Suffolk Punch

Suffolk Punch is one of my favorite spots in South End to hang with friends and grab a couple of drinks. The inside is warm and inviting and their patio is great for those Charlotte summer days. Order the “Once Upon a Time in Mezcal” or the “Paloma with a Punch.”

I hope I’m helping you find things to do in South End and hopefully you find a new spot to try out from my best cocktail list for your next fun night out. My favorite thing about these being all close together is that you can explore 2-3 of them in the same night.

Every day, about 28 people in the U.S. are killed in drunk-driving crashes – that’s one person every 52 minutes. Let’s all do each other a favor and order those rideshare rides, catch a ride with a friend or ride public transportation on our fun nights out. Remember if you booze it, you could lose your license. #BoozeItLoseIt.
