This post has been a long time coming! Since quarantine, I’ve been at home, supporting local restaurants and eating all of the foods. Wings have been my comfort food this year, so I thought it would be a great idea to share 9 of the best wings in Charlotte.
Now, If I’m being honest, I’m a lemon pepper kinda gal. No, seriously though. I don’t think twice when ordering lemon pepper and that is something I’d love to change in 2021. So if you have a favorite wing flavor that I should try, pleaseeee send it my way!
In the mood for tacos instead? Check out my taco list here.
1. Chex
Chex is my go-to because I live so close… I consider myself lucky. Chex has 6 locations in Charlotte, and 1 in Gastonia. Flavor menu is huge and if you’re not a lame like me who only eats Lemon Pepper, you’ll have tons to choose from. Not pictured is the Philly Cheesesteak and the Bacon Chicken Ranch on pita wrap that are both just as good as the wings.
2. Flip a lo’s
I know this is a wing list, and yes the wings are great. But the star of Flipalo’s is this pizza bread. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I had it (cue the drool). This combo is a killer, although the fries sucked and I pass on them.
3. Ty’s Wings & Tings
Oh Ty… good thing I’m not ranking these spots because Ty may or may not be #1 of the 9 best wings in Charlotte for me. These wings are flavorful, crisp and mouthwatering. Not to mention, Ty’s sides are just as delicious as the wings. Food here is made fresh to order, so you’ll be waiting a bit but man, is it worth it.
4. Nappy Chef
These wings and fries combo are *chefs kiss*. Oh, and if you love mac and cheese, Nappy Chef will be your spot.
5. D.D. peckers
D.D Peckers is located about a couple minutes from TLC Wings. If you’re looking for a place with a bar or a proper sit down restaurant, go to D.D Peckers. Both places have great wings but flavor wise they’re sort of a tie. The one thing I did not like about D.D’s is that you can only order one flavor per wing order. So to get two flavors, I had to order two 5 order of wings.
6. TLC Wings
TLC Wings blew my mind, y’all. I finally ventured out of “lemon pepper” and ordered the hot ranch. Best decision of my life. So creamy, not too hot, and juicy. Of course, the lemon pepper was fire too. Out of every place on this list, TLC has the best fries. If you’re a pizza person, they have pizza on their menu too.
7. Salud
Salud is a sleeper when it comes to wings. I don’t hear many people talk about their wings, which is a shame. If you like smaller, crispier wings try Salud! They may be smaller but they don’t lack flavor. Order awesome beer flavors while you’re there and pair your wings with pizza.
8. Wing King Cafe
Ok, so I did not want this list to be biased because all of these spots are great in their own way. Butttt, Wing King and TLC are in my top 5. Wing King has smaller wings but boy, are they delicious. Super crispy wings and flavorful. I am a lemon pepper feen and their lemon pepper wings have been my favorite I’ve had in Charlotte so far.
9. Queen City Wings
Just outside of Uptown is a small wing spot tucked away behind Mama Ricotta’s. The wings are delicious and so are their sides! The All Purpose wings are pretty good, but y’all know me… Lemon Pepper or die girl over here.
Hope you all enjoy this list! Please share with others who would love to try new wings in Charlotte, North Carolina. Did I miss any spots? Let me know!

Can’t wait to try all these places! You definitely need to try Bisonte’s on Trade St. Their wings and pizza are so good!

You forgot sal’s pizza factory on monroe rd in Charlotte.
